New Sketch at Deconstructing Jen

So everyone knows I love a good sketch and Deconstructing Jen is my place to go for inspiration. So this latest sketch has grabbed my attention and I think I will be {constructing} a card this weekend using it......

What do you think? Let's see what I can come up with. =)

Got a Boo Boo?

OMG, can you say cute? Another little stamp that tugged at my heart strings. BooBoo Bear is simply the cutest {EVER}! Being a paediatric nurse I have nursed a few bears in my time for patients of mine so I could not resist this one at all.... pick this one up here

So what do you think? How cute is she {and him}? It really is a simple card but still so adorable. This is an A2 card from Gina K Kraft card stock. Unfortunately I do not know who the supplier is of the patterned paper so if anyone recognizes it don't be afraid to let me know, I like to give credit where credit is due. I used a doily in behind the framed image to give a little texture to the card.

          The Copic markers I used for this particular image are E000, E00, E11, R20, E51, E53, E55, R39, R46, NO, N1, N3, RV10, RV11, E41, E42, E43, E74, E77 and E79. The "Feel Better" sentiment is from ScrappyMoms. I added 2 red brads for a pop of colour. Faux stitching was added with a Uniball Signa white gel pen.

Remember the great sale! If you use the code {I love The Paper Nest} in the notes section at The Paper Nest, you can receive 20% off your entire order. This is good until March 31st. So stock up now while you have the chance.

Paper Nest SALE......

Wow, Christine sure is a busy little bee at the shop. Everyone knows that the official stamp release of all of her cute stamps is happening tonight. Unfortunately not all of us can be there but that doesn't mean you can not enjoy the same goodness that everyone attending can. So here is the deal......

The Paper Nest has decided to throw a sale for all of us who can not attend that party tonight...... normally the rubber stamps are $7.99 each, TODAY until midnight EST if you buy 2 you can have them each for $7.50, if you buy 3 you can get them for $7.00 each. That's not it though, if you spend a minimum of $30.00 you can get FREE shipping to the U.S. She does not want to forget about the rest of the world though so she is willing to pay $5.95 towards the shipping if you live outside of the U.S. How awesome is that? So how does it work? Go to her store here, figure out what you want..... (it will be all of it because is simply to hard to resist) email her at thepapernest@yahoo.com and tell her what you want, she will invoice you through Paypal and voila you are done.......

BUT WAIT!!!! Your not quite done because if you buy 3 or more stamps you will be entered to win a gift basket courtesy of the The Paper Nest.......

          Good Luck Everyone..... :)

More Inked Cuties........

So I tried SO HARD to get into card making yesterday. I was able to complete one card but then I hit a dead end. So I thought I would do a little post with all the cuties I have inked up to make cards with. I am kind of excited about them, they are adorable.... now just to get the creative juices flowing once again.... I think I need a holiday.... oh that's right I am going on holidays in 14 days.... and I need Pinterest! :)

I just realized that these are all LORi Boyd digital stamps.... as you can see from a couple of the images, I added Glossy Effects to the puddles and balloons. I really hope my creative flow starts again soon........

Contest at The Paper Nest

So The Paper Nest is having a contest. You could be the winner of a rubber stamp of your choice, just by going here. Follow the blog and comment on the post..... Christine will use random.org to pick a winner.... It is as simple as that..... a free rubber, how can you say no?

Friends Who Can Handle All Weather.......

So welcome to my first official post for the Paper Nest Dolls as a design team member. I could not be more excited..... I have inked a few of these images over the last couple of weeks and they are simply adorable... Originally I was going to post my card that I completed using "Playing Dress Up" but I was surprised by the artist Christine with this adorable new release "All Weather Friend" and I could not resist trying to get this one inked up and ready to go for this post. You can find the stamp at The Paper Nest. Don't forget about the great little sale going on from now until March 31, 2013. If you use the saying "I love The Paper Nest" in the notes section at the Etsy store you will get 20% your entire order.... who can resist a sale?

This card was made on a 5.5X5.5" Gina K Kraft card stock. I absolutely love purple and teal together, one of my favourite colour combinations EVER.... so this time I actually picked the paper first. I used MME Lime Twist "Happy Go Lucky". <----{heart heart HEART} and Stampin Up Designer paper. I also used some designer brads from Stampin Up to tie in the purple on the image..... I also added some dimension to the water with a little Glossy Accents.... that stuff is AWESOME!

          I used Copics markers to ink these little ones up. Skin was done in E000, E00, E11 and R20. Hair is done in E50, E51, E53, E55, E13, E15, E17 and E18. Clothes are done in YG03, YG23, YG25, RV21, RV23, V17, V25, BG49 and BG57. Water is done with BG01, BG02 and BG05.
Umbrella was inked with V17, V25, E74, E77, BG49 and BG57. I also had some polka dots using my Uniball Signa white gel pen. The image was cut out with Spellbinders Label 3. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and by all means leave a comment, I would love to hear what you have to say. xo

Playing Dress Up?

I love this little stamp. Originally this was going to be my first post as a Paper Nest Doll but I got surprised with a new digital so I decided I would post this one today instead. I don't know about all of you but I remember playing dress up as a little girl..... how can you resist? Playing Dress Up is available here as a digital or here as a rubber!

I {heart} Gina K Kraft card stock, so of course this 5.5"X5.5" cardback was made out of that. I love layers so I layered Gina K Black paper and Bazill Teal paper..... The patterned paper I used was by Authentique "Celebration". GORGEOUS paper and I never would have thought of mixing red and blue together but WOW, what a combination! When I inked her up I had this specific paper in mind...... Of course I distressed all the layers with Tim Holtz distressing tool and "Walnut Stain" ink.

I used my Copic markers to colour this little beauty. Her skin was done in E000, E00, E11 and R20. I did her hair with E50 E51, E53, and E55. Her dress, shoes and hat were coloured with BG02, BG05, BG07 and BG18. The flowers and necklace were in R37, R39, R89 and the leaves were coloured with YG23 and YG25. Oh and who could forget the little mirror which was coloured in C3, C5 and C7. I think she is pretty cute.... What do you think?

PS...... I have a little special for you..... :). If you go to The Paper Nest and use the code "I love the Paper Nest" in the notes section you will receive 20% off your order. This deal will end March 31, 2013 so hurry up and get your stamps......

Paper, Paper and More Paper......

So I think I have an addiction.... well anyone who knows me KNOWS I have an addiction to anything remotely crafty but I was actually counting my 6X6 paper pads and I have over 100 of them AND I have bought more that are waiting for me in Phoenix {cheaper to ship} when I go. This is not including the multitudes of 12X12 paper that is taking up a whole side of my closet..... So I am thinking I need to figure out how to stop buying and how to use up what I have.... BUT it is SO hard when all these cute papers come out. Just the other day I was with my friend, Ashley and we were walking through Michaels and I happened to stop in front of the MME display..... she literally had to tell me to STOP and WALK away from the paper as she was physically dragging me away..... I think the people who were walking by thought we were crazy but really if anybody saw how much paper my mother and I have accumulated they would gasp...... I think I may have to sit down on a couple of my days off and figure out what I can use with what and do some organizing... seriously... :)

Can You Say AMAZING????

First off, I would like to say that my old blog is GONE forever FOREVER..... Secondly, I would like to praise, gloat, yell as loud as I possibly can how appreciative I am to Chelsea of Bellaluluink. This girl {and her husband, because I can not forget him} took on a challenge of a lifetime and did the deed of making my blog BEAUTIFUL..... I am in awe of the design and I am so proud of my blog now..... I find it glamorous.
I can't even begin to to tell you what a disaster it was for this dynamic duo to get this up and running. Apparently my blog was being rude to these lovely people.... but they still were able to make it work and I {heart} it..... so thank you thank you THANK YOU....... You guys are the BEST!!!

Please Bear With Me.....

OK, so as you can see I am in the process of changing over my blog. I am currently at work... shhhh..... and unfortunately the computers are really snippety here and for some reason things are not working out as I had hoped. Hopefully by later tonight {after consulting with the blog designer} everything will be tickety boo......

Thank You.....

I am so excited....... my blog is going to be updated within the week and I am so happy with the changes that are about to be made..... stay tuned....

So I have found By LORi Designs..... and let me tell you, her stuff is cute..... I have no idea what rock I have been hiding under but I have seen the light..... :) I chose Lollipop Sophie. I never had a specific idea in mind for this card but it did end up being a "thank you" card for some co-workers who wanted it for someone who has gone beyond the call of duty. How can I resist making one of my cards..... I simply {heart} doing it for anyone. Especially if it brings a smile to his/her face.

As you can see I have used my newly designed (by myself) watermark which includes my new blog address. I am quite happy with it and finally have figured out how to do it.... :)

This is your typical A2 Gina K Kraft coloured card back. I don't typically use this size but thought it would work well with this stamp size I chose to use. I am unsure of the green cardstock used, I know it is Stampin Up and the pink is from the Petals line from Gina K.The patterned paper is AMAZING. It is a digital pack that I ordered from Beartless on Etsy. Lollipop Sophie is coloured with Copics. Her skin is E000, E00, E11 and R20. He hair is E50, E51, E53, and E55. I used YG03, YG23, YG25, R83 and R85 for the dress, bow and socks. The shoes are done in 110 and blended out with 0. I used pearl accents for around the die cut and a Uniball Signa gel pen in white for the faux stitching. The "thank you" sentiment on the inside is from ScrappyMoms..... Hope you enjoy.....xo

I am hoping to be making some changes......

I have never been one to stick with something for long. Although I love my logo for my site, I am not digging my blog anymore so I am looking into having someone design something special for me..... It has to be cute and fun because it is all about crafts and creativity. I so wish I could figure it out on my own but I just do not have the time to do it...... so hopefully you will see some changes soon..... I am kind of excited about it...... :)

Officially on Countdown......

So I am so excited to officially be on countdown till my vacation. I never see any point in doing one until you are at least under 30 days..... according to my Iphone, I have 26 days, 7 hours, 12 minutes and 9 seconds until I fly to Phoenix. I have been looking forward to this for so long. My parents are currently down there and have been since the first week of January. They do a yearly jaunt and Arizona seems to be there home in the winter. They have rented this spectacular house with a pool and hot tub. I went for a week last year but this year I am going for almost 3 weeks and I am thrilled. A good friend/co worker of mine is also joining us a for a week so that should be fun. I have alot of organzing to do so I can continue on with my posts, ect. I promise I will do my best....... xo

Busy Bee....... :)

I have been on a roll lately....... I have been obsessed with inking images...... I did a few last night/today and now they are all prepped for their cards...... super cute digi's from different stores..... I also got an order from my Facebook page and decided to get a jump on it...... she had seen some cards I had made for family members and she wanted some for herself..... so how could I say no....

I used Gina K black cardstock for this 5.5"X5.5" base. It is layered with Recollections black and white paper pad. The digital stamp is from Making It Crafty and she is called "CiCi". Gina K lipstick red added some punch in the colour department. E000, E00, E11 and R20 was used for her skin while E74, E77 and E79 was used for her hair. R37, R39 and R89 was used for the flower, dress and cheery. Her eyes were coloured with YG23 and YG25.........she is flippin cute.....

So I have done this card before but I did this one in different colours. Believe it or not she wanted this as her Valentine's card for her husband. I would have never thought of this as a Valentine's card but who am I to judge. The image is TGF's Kissy Kissy. I love this stamp.... The 5.5"X5.5" card is made out of Gina K Kraft cardstock. I then layered using Stampin Up and Creative Imaginations "Celery Wordprint" I also used Gina K's Mother of Pearl to make the cake in the background and a teal ribbon to tie it all in together. The image was coloured with Copics {of course}. Skin was coloured with E000, E00, E11 and R20. His hair was coloured with E25, E27, and E29 while her's was done with E50, E51, E53, and E55.His suit was done with C7, C9 and 0. His top and her dress was done with BG49 and BG57. I also used Liquid Pearl in white. SUPER cute card, don't you think?

My Number 3 Card.......... :)

This is my third and final post of the night....... (I do have a 4th card but I have to wait to post that one). This card I am posting tonight is for my aunty. It's funny, I have been making birthday cards for all of my coworker's for the last year..... when I realized that my family wasn't even getting cards from me, say what? How could that be..... so I made a New Years Resolution and I have started making them for all of my family and my family is HUGE..... so I am going to be a busy girl.... but I love making them and I am doing really well, I am way ahead of schedule.... I think I am done until May..... I am kind of OCD about it..... anyways I used Send Me a Sign Bug by Tiddly Inks. I have used this stamp before and I love the versatility of it....... you can stamp whatever sentiment you want.... as long as it fits in the sign... ;)

I see a pattern here, I did a lot of teal and green today... I love those colours together. This is an A2 card in Gina K Kraft card stock. The patterned paper is again from Echo Park called "Happy Days". I see I forgot to write down the colours of the other paper. I know the green is Gina K, just can't remember the name of it..... and the teal paper is the dotted paper that you can distress. I used the Tim Holtz distressing tool and ink in "Walnut Stain". The digital stamp is coloured in E000, E00, E11 and R20. The dress is coloured in YG03, YG23 and YG25. The hair is E27. The sentiment is from Scrappy Mom's. I used some Stampin Up brads {to hide a smudge :)}. I also glittered it up a bit with Stickles in Diamonds. Totally cute and TOTALLY easy..... enjoy xo

My Second Card for the Day.......

So I was on a roll today, literally, I completed a total of 4 cards with a 5th one on the way.... although I can't post that one because I am submitting it to the Designed To Colour magazine and I have to keep it a secret so shhhhhhhhhh. This card I am posting is for my co-worker's birthday. She is actually my mentor who took me under her wings when I first joined my nursing career back in 2005. She is a wonderful, soft spoken lovely lady and it's unfortunate that we do not get to work with each more but our rotations are opposite each other. I adore her, she really is a lovely person and a fabulous nurse...... the kids are really lucky when they get her..... So the stamp I used was Bugs & Kisses from Tiddly Inks. Another stamp that I have had in my arsenal for quite a while..... glad I decided to ink her up, she is adorable....... you can be the judge.....

As with all of my cards I used the Gina K Kraft card stock. The card is 5.5"X5.5" square. The patterned paper is Echo Park "Happy Days". I love the red, black and white combo! It really is classy looking..... I inked Bugs & Kisses with none other than Copic markers.... Skin: E000, E00, E11, and R20. Hair: E25, E27, and E29. The little hedgehog is coloured with E42, E43, E74, E77 and E79. I did the dotting technique to give it a bit of a textured effect. Her little dress and wings are coloured with R39, R46 and R89. Her shoes and headband are coloured with C3, C5, C7, C9 and 110. I added some polka dots to the dress with the Uni-ball Signa White Gel pen. I used Tim Holtz distressing tool and "Walnut Stain" Ink to give it a rustic look. The sentiment is stamped with Scrappy Mom's "Happy Happy Birthday" and embossed with white embossing powder. Oh I forgot the flower, I used Y16, R83 and YG25. Hope you dig it....... till next time xo.

Some Odd Girl's February Challenge......Woot Woot.....

So it has been a long time since I have taken part in a challenge..... a real long time and I really don't have any excuses but I will chalk it up to laziness....... My mojo is back and well now it is time to start creating some new cards...... so this one is a sketch challenge using Cheers Kaylee from Some Odd Girl..... she is super cute and quite easy to colour. However I made a small error but covered it well with a necklace..... haha!. I think it turned out extremely well considering I went out of lines ever so slightly..... I am a perfectionist and I can't have that nor can I re colour it all again so I drew in my own pearl necklace with a white Uni-ball Signa Gel pen.... (my most favourite thing in the world). Below is a picture of the sketch we were suppose to work with........

And here is the card I completed..... hope you like her, she was lots of fun to colour up....

Oh I {heart} this stamp so much and I can not believe I waited so long to ink her up..... total craziness....

So of course I started with a 5.5"X5.5" square card-back made out of Gina K Kraft coloured card stock {my ultimate favourite}. The patterned paper I used was Echo Park's "Happy Days". The sentiment used is from Scrappy Mom's. I used a Stampin Up scalloped punch. The embellishments {black rubbery thing} I got out of a drawer, I have no clue what it is or where it came from but I {heart} it..... I distressed everything with Tim Holtz distressing tool and inked it with "Walnut Stain". I used Copics to colour Cheers Kaylee..... Skin: E000, E00, E11 AND R20. Hair: E25, E27 and E29. I added toe nail polish in R89. The dress was coloured with BG02, BG05, BG07, YG03, YG23 and YG25, as with the shoes and glasses. I did colour the glass with some C1 and G000 but you can't really see it.....Her eyes were coloured with BG02 and BG05. Hope you love her and please leave comments..... I would love to hear what you have to say..... thanks for stopping by.... xo

Inking Up Some Beauties!!!!

So I have inked up some little beauties and can't wait to spend the day making cards tomorrow. It has been awhile since I have been able to spend the full day working on my favourite thing.... I have a super cute Odd Girl I coloured for their most recent Sketch challenge. I coloured another Tiddly Inks that I have had for awhile but have never inked up.... she is super cute... I also coloured up another digital stamp from The Paper Nest. Stay tune for the finished products :) I can't wait to share.....

Some Big BIG BIG News.........

So I have been chomping at the bit wanting to tell everyone my latest and greatest news and now officially I can........... I have been asked to be a part of the Paper Nest Dolls Design Team...... and I am so excited about it....... The Paper Nest has the greatest little digital stamps {available here}, all of which will be making their debut as rubber stamps in the very near future.... who doesn't like new rubbers???
The one I decided to ink up is a new release and her name is "Sunflower Ellie".

Isn't she to die for???

So everybody who knows me, knows I love Gina K Kraft coloured card stock. Here is a 5.5X5.5 card. I also used Gina K Lipstick Red and the designer paper I chose was Bella Carte "Beautiful Moments". I used Spellbinders circle and scalloped circles to give the card some texture. The sentiment is from Stamping Bella. "Sunflower Ellie" is coloured with Copic markers..... I {heart} my Copics..... I used E000, E00 and R20 for her skin.... her hair was coloured with E25, E27 and E29. Her boots are coloured with C5, C7 and C9. Her socks, flower and banding on her dress are coloured with R89. The sunflower is coloured with Y21 and Y26. To add some more texture I did the dotting effect to the centre of the flower with E25, E27 and E29. The stem was coloured with YG03, YG23 and YG25 and the cute little watering can was done with C3 and C5. Seeing as they are paper doll designs, I could not resist doing the little dress in paper piecing...  I distressed the layers and card with Tim Holtz distressing tool and "Walnut Stain" ink. To finalize it, I did faux stitching around the card with a Signa Uni-ball white gel pen.

I am truly looking forward to the next 6 months with the team.
