Challenge # 3.... Embossing..... =)

Welcome to the third challenge at The Paper Nest Dolls challenge blog. This challenge is all about embossing..... you heard me right....embossing.... However you can incorporate it in your project, we want to see it... =). You can visit the sideline of the challenge blog for the full rules, here. I used my favourite stamp of all times.....Boo Boo Bear {maybe cause I am a Paediatric nurse}. You can find her here!

Of course I used Copic markers to colour this lovely little lady. Her skin is coloured in E000, E00, E11 and R20. I made her a red head with E11, E13, E17 and E18. Teddy is coloured with E40, E41, E42, E74, E77, E79 and R20. Her hat and shirt were coloured with C1, R39 and R46. The stethoscope was inked with RV21. I also added some shadowing to the table area with W00, W1 and W3. How cute is she?

I used mulberry paper {the stuff used to make those cute fluffy little bears, see this post} in pink to frame the inked image. It was cut with the scalloped circle spellbinder and I dried embossed it with the Cuttlebug using the Spots & Dots folder.

The sentiment is from Ninja Skills which I purchased from There She Goes stamps. It is heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Below you can see the kraft background behind the inked image. This was heat embossed with clear embossing powder using the Inkadinkado polka dot background stamp.

I of course made the 5.5X5.5" square card using Gina K Kraft card stock. I used MME's Indie Chic "Saffron" patterned paper. I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz distressing tool and Walnut Stain ink. I also added faux stitching using the Signa Uniball gel pen in white. The rose is Spare Parts from the Paper Studio {thanks Christine =)}. I can't wait to see what all of you lovely little crafters will come up with for this challenge..... xo

Not only do you get to join a fabulous challenge with us at The Paper Nest Dolls, but Christine does not disappoint with the prize package. Check out all the goodies you can win...... =) Good Luck!

We will be running biweekly challenges, starting on Mondays,        and ending the Friday the week AFTER the challenge starts. A complete list of challenge rules/guidelines can be found on our sidebar. The Paper Nest's New Release Blog Hop....=)

Welcome to The Paper Nest Dolls' first
"official" New Release Blog Hop!

Today the very talented and creative design team of The Paper Nest Dolls has put together this hop to share with you projects made using our 9 new stamps!

Digital versions of these stamps regularly sell for $3.00 each, but from today through Friday May 3rd you can get ALL 9 images for only $18 here in our shop!

I made a greeting card using the new Bath Time Ellie. You can find her here!

I was so excited when I was asked to do a project with the adorable stamp, Bath Time Ellie. How truly adorable is she really? You be the judge.....

Hello??? Is she not the cutest EVER?

I made this 5.5X5.5" square card out of Gina K card stock. I used Bazill Dark grey and very light pink card stock. The patterned paper was a scrap piece that I had laying around and unfortunately I can not remember who the designer was... =( I used Metal Stickers "photo tabs" for the 2 corners. I sewed all the sections together with white thread. I coloured the big pearls which were from the $ store which RV13. The white pearls are actually made from Liquid Pearls in white. {Remember when using the Liquid Pearls that you make this the last step of your card and let it dry thoroughly, if you lay the card flat to dry you will find they will look more like pearls instead of having a peak on them}. The image and background was cut using Spellbinder's Nestabilities Label 6.

The Copic markers I used are as follows:
Skin: E000, E00, E11 and R20
Hair: E50, E51, E53 and E55
Headband, housecoat and slippers: RV10, RV11, RV13 and RV14 {I also added the polka dots with a Signa Uniball white gel pen}
Pajamas and Teddy: C0, C1, C3 and C5

I apologize I do not have more pictures of this card, normally I would add a closeup, but the closeup's picture was blurry - =(

Old, New, Borrowed & Blue Blog Hop......

Welcome to Day 2 of the Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue Blog Hop!

Wedding bells will soon be ringing as the wedding season is almost here, and the design teams of Red Carpet Studio and The Paper Nest Dolls have teamed up to provide you with some beautiful wedding inspiration by creating projects using Paper Nest Dolls digital stamps! If you've just come across the hop and would like to start at the beginning, please visit Red Carpet Studio.

Red Carpet Studio is a movie-themed challenge blog that runs weekly challenges, alternating between layout and card challenges each week. All of their challenges are inspired by either a movie or aspect of Hollywood!
The Paper Nest Dolls is a brand new digital/rubber stamp shop that sells adorable stamps inspired by the designer's children. Their stamps are sold here and they just started a challenge blog as well!

For my project today, I chose a lovely little image known as "The Wedding". I absolutely loved working with this image and of course my favorite color is blue so this was one of the projects that stood out for me.

This card is made from Gina K Kraft card stock. It is a square card measuring 5.5X5.5". I NEVER work with lace (something old) so this was a big step for me (in fact I did 2 cards with lace in the same day). I wanted to make this card really feminine so I thought the lace did just that. I used MME Lost & Found Portabello patterned paper. I also used Bazill pale blue glossy paper along with dark grey card stock too. I added Maya Road chipboard hearts (something new, to me) which were coloured with Copics and dazzled up with Diamond stickles. I also added some pearls and seam binding ribbon to tie it all together.
The Copic markers I used were: Skin E000, E00, E11 and R20. Hair: E50, E51, E53, E23 and E25. His outfit was done with N1, N3, N5, 110 and 0. Her outfit was done with BG0000, BG00, C1 and 0. Flowers and bow tie: BG02, BG05, BG07, YG23, and YG25 (with some Diamond Stickles)

The Paper Nest Dolls owner and artist, Christine, is very generously providing us with some blog candy from her online stamp shop and her brick and mortar scrapbooking store! To be eligible to win you must comment on every stop of both days of the hop.

Happy Healing!!!

So this card was completed for a co-worker who was a preceptor to a lovely little gal in her 4th year of nursing school. We all love Hailey a ton and we all pray that she will join our team when she is done in a month. Only time will tell. She was wonderful student... =)
I chose Boo Boo Bear from The Paper Nest Dolls because I {heart} this image.... and it was perfect because we are Paediatric nurses so I thought it was very fitting, especially with the teddybear.

I used Gina K Kraft card stock to make the 5.5X5.5" card. I used Basic Grey "Knee Highs' patterned paper. I also lined the patterned paper with black layering paper. I used seam binding ribbon, rhinestones and brads to add some flare to the card. There is also a charm that says "Made for You". The sentiment on the front is from Scrappy Moms and the inside sentiment is from Gina K.
          The Copic markers I used are as follows: E000, E00, E11, R20, E40, E42, E59, E55, E57, E74, E77, E79, C0, C1, RV23, RV25, RV29, R46, W00, W1, W3 and W5. Hope you like.. =) xo

LOADS of Love..........

So I decided to ink up this little baby..... her name is Washboard Ellie and she is available over at The Paper Nest store....... pick her up here! Isn't she ridiculously amazing??? I really enjoyed inking her up. I have a mild addiction to polka dots and with her hair tied up in the wrap reminds of back in the day when the pin-up girls would use handkerchiefs in their hair...... too cute.... =)

The copic markers I used were for the skin: E000, E00, E11 and R20. Her hair is done with E50, E51 and E53. Her hair wrap and shirt are done in R37, R39 and R89. The rest was coloured in N0, N1, N3, N5, BG000, BG01, B18, B24, G28, E41, E42, E74 and E77. I added the polka dots with a Signa Uniball white gel pen. I also added bubbles with pearl accents.

Gina K, of course, supplied the 5.5X5.5" card back in Kraft. I lined the Avelon patterned paper in black card stock and stitched it up with the sewing machine. I made the sentiment in Photoshop and added red ribbon to tie it together..... I absolutely love it.... hope you enjoy.... xo

2CuteInk...... A Little Cutie.......

Designer Heidi from 2CuteInk needed some quick help so I decided to jump at the opportunity as she has some really cute stamps..... this particular card I made is using Soccer Birdie, which you can find here.

I used Gina K Kraft card stock and made a 5.5X5.5" card. I lined all the paper using black layering card stock. Unfortunately the designer name of the patterned paper has eluded me but if I figure it out I will post it. I came up with the sentiment using Photoshop Elements.... The image is inked with Copics. The bird is coloured with Y11, Y13, Y15 and Y17. The beak in YR04 and YR07. The bow is coloured with RV32, ad RV34. I added some C1 to the soccer ball and used BG000 and BG00 to added some highlight around the image. Hope you like..... go visit 2CuteInk and take a look-see... xo

Pretty Pastel's Challenge........

It has been a long while since I entered a challenge on any blog as of late. I just can't seem to get my stuff together to get anything posted. This card was actually made for a family of a special little girl that we lost last week. Her favourite colour is purple. She was a kind hearted spirit and I will miss her dearly..... Heaven has gained another angel....

The digital stamp that I used was from the ever so talented Krista from Saturated Canary. This little cutie's name is Butterfly Baby and she is absolutely adorable, you can find her here. I fell in love with her the very first moment I saw her and had to have her.... She is printed on Make It Crafty paper. I used the circle spellbinders to cut the image out. Her skin is coloured with E000, E00, E11 and R20. Her hair is coloured in E50, E51, E53 and E55. The sleeper and wings are coloured in V000, V12, V15, RV32, and RV34. Her eyes are inked with BG000 and BG01. I added some dots with a Signa Uniball white gel pen and added some sparkle with Diamond Stickles...

The card base is a 5.5X5.5" and is made of Gina K Kraft card stock. I wrapped the edges in some ribbon that I coloured with V12. The background paper is Gina K card stock in Mother of Pearl. Unfortunately I am unsure of the patterned paper but I know it is Hero Arts. The flowers are from Wild Orchids. The butterfly charm was bought at a bead store in Victoria, BC. I also added a "made for you" heart charm which I bought from Miriam's Crafting Supplies. The pearls are from an unknown source. I also coloured a lace paper doily in V12 and used it as a frame for the image. This card was a pleasure to make, although under sad circumstances. I hope it brings a little warmth to the family who have lost.....
Hope you enjoy xo.
