Fall Inspired Birthday Card.......

So fall has always been my most favorite season of the year.... Oddly enough, I love the colours...., reds, oranges, yellows, burnt umbers and greens.... simply GORGEOUS.....  This card was inspired by fall, more specifically reds and oranges of fall. I had done the Glitteritz technique with the Elizabeth Craft Flower Circle Frame peel off stickers (mostly to try it out). I think this was my second attempt at it and I thought it turned out quite well. As soon as I was done I knew who this card was for....... my coworker Dawn, who's birthday is coming up in November. She has always been a huge supporter of my cards and I wanted to make her an extra special card. I loved how the card turned out.... I have even started sewing my cards which I never did. Although I am using my mom's sewing machine because mine is too expensive to be sewing paper with. I added some embellishments, such as a tag that is crumpled and distressed with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain and Rusty Hinge. I also added some leaves that I found at Michael's....... I hope you enjoy this card..... I can not wait to give it to my much deserving coworker....

Buttons Galore!!!

So I have been collecting buttons for a while now with something specific in mind. I had been perusing Pinterest {What else is new?} when I came across this great idea for an art piece. I just so happened to need a larger piece for my living room where I use to have this really "boring" piece. I wanted COLOUR and PIZAZZ, so I thought I would give it a try and voila this is what I came up with......

Hard to believe that this was completed in less than 5 hours...... It is 40"X 60" and there are ALOT of buttons on here. I hand glued them with the help of my crafty friends, Ashley and my mom...... they are such troopers...... thanks ladies.......

Coy Kaylee, she is SO adorable......

So the card I FINALLY got completed today was with SOG's Coy Kaylee. She is such a lovely little diva and I had so much colouring her. I chose shades of teal and mauves/purples and when putting the card together I used layer after layer and I really think she came out well. I made the rosette out of tulle that I had left over from a tutu that I had made. The other flowers I made from felt that I had left over from hair accessories I make. I used My Favorite Thing's Die-namics Mini Rolled  Roses. I am trying to decide who will be the lucky recipient of this card..... it is definitely going to a co-worker, just not sure who...... Hope you enjoy her.......

September Birthdays.......

So wow, September is an insane month for birthdays..... most of my best girlfriends were born in September, along with myself....... and most of us are turning the BIG 40...... Lordy.... So of course I had to make some birthday cards for my girls, Kelly and Shannon. My BFF Kelly is a roller derby girl and a tough one at that...... so I could not resist SC's Roller Skating Zombie.... She was PERFECT...... Kelly's team colours are hot pink and black...... and well Shannon's card I tried a new technique that I learned on YouTube...... it is so awesome and really easy to do.... I loved the outcome of it..... check them out below....

This is done with GlitzyRitz transparent in Warm highlight and it is coloured with Copic markers.

Boot Cuffs....... my new favourite thing......

So I started crocheting last year (after I taught myself how to knit)... I thought what the heck.... let's teach myself how to crochet too. I am a MUCH quicker crocheter then a knitter. I started making hats and cup cozies last year to sell. This year I have added the coolest things EVER.....boot cuffs. They are SO CUTE and I can make them in ANY colour..... I will post a pic of some of the stuff I can make..... super cute and super fun for me..... :)
