I {Heart} My Little Brother

These siblings are cute! I was thrilled when I received this digital stamp. Kind of reminds me of me little bro and myself, although my little bro is not so little anymore at 6'4". I would go to the ends of the earth for my little brother and he would probably {I think} do the same for me ;). Although if you asked him he may disagree.... :)

This card is layered with bright fun colours from BoBunny "Double Dots" & Studio G. Heavily distressed {once again} by Tim Holts distressing tool and Walnut Stain ink. I could not do a card without my trusty Gina K Kraft card stock. This card is 5.5X5.5. I used AmyR sentiments "hugs" and "Bestfriends Forever".

          The Copics used are E000, E00, E11, E25, E27, E29, E41, E42, E43, E74, E77, E79, B24, B28, G17, R20, R37, R39, R89, V25, FV2, BG05, BG07, 110 and 0. I used some teal sparkly ribbon and 2 bright purple buttons. Faux stitching was added as well. "My Little Brother" rubber stamp is available here. The digital stamp is also available.

Everyone Needs a Little Sweet in Their Life.....

I am going to be honest, I have a hard time with male cards.... I do not believe I am the first to admit this and I am definitely not going to be the last by any means. IN FACT, I am pretty sure I have mentioned it somewhere in my blog before.... It's not that I am opposed to doing male cards, I just find it easier to make cards girly because of the embellishments that are available......BUT, when I saw Sweet Friend, I was amped to do a boy's card and it was really easy because this stamp made it easy. Check it out.....

I definitely think he is a keeper! I heavily distressed the layers on this card with Tim Holtz distressing tool and Walnut Stain ink. It is layered on an A2 Gina K Kraft card. Another unknown source for patterned paper.... {I have a few of these, with no cover page}I embossed the sentiment "Sweet Friend" by Scrappy Moms {which was PERFECT} with white embossing powder.

          The image is inked with Copics..... {of course}! I used E000, E00, E11, E25, E27, E74, E77, E79, G05, G07, G17, RV10 and RV11. The 3 little green buttons brought the card all together. I hope you like it, he is available here.

Don't forget to use the code "I love The Paper Nest" in the notes section to receive 20% off your entire order at The Paper Nest. This special is only till the end of March!

Anyone Need a Do??

I {heart} this stamp! It is so adorable and when I first received it from Christine I was giddy with delight...... I use to be a hairdresser {for 13 years} before I went back to school to get my nursing degree. I could not resist picking this little lovely out to ink up. The Paper Doll Salon is so cute, don't you think?

Remember if you visit The Paper Nest before March 31st and use the code " I love the Paper Nest" {in the notes section} you can get 20% off your entire order, so it's a perfect time to stock up on all the little cuties that are available.

This is 5X5 card made from Gina K Kraft card stock {my favourite}! The patterned paper I used is My Mind's Eye "The Sweetest Thing - Honey". I have the most unique embellishment, I have no idea where it came from but I found it in my stash. It is shiny and silver in colour and unfortunately really hard to see in the picture.... but it adds a lot of flare to this card. I used some teal ribbon to add a pop of colour and a felt flower embellishment. The inside says Absolutely FABulous....Thank You!. I'm thinking a perfect card for the hairdresser in your life.... :)

I used my medium of choice, Copics. Both ladies skin is coloured in E000, E00, E11 and R20. The hairdresser's hair is E51, E53 and E55. Her dress & shoes are inked with Y15 & Y17. Her belt is E41, E42 and E43 {as with the sign}. Her dryer is coloured with T3 & T5. The client is sitting on a chair coloured in RV06, RV09, 100 and 0. Pants & shoes are B24 & B28. Her Top is coloured in RV10 & RV11. Let's not forget her hair in rollers..... E25 & E27 and some pops of colour with BG07 & BG10 with the rollers, hair bow and hair tools.

I distressed using Tim Holts distressing tool and Walnut Stain ink. I also added some faux stitching around the card with a Uniball Signa white gel pen. Hope you like her, please feel free to comment....

Got a Boo Boo?

OMG, can you say cute? Another little stamp that tugged at my heart strings. BooBoo Bear is simply the cutest {EVER}! Being a paediatric nurse I have nursed a few bears in my time for patients of mine so I could not resist this one at all.... pick this one up here

So what do you think? How cute is she {and him}? It really is a simple card but still so adorable. This is an A2 card from Gina K Kraft card stock. Unfortunately I do not know who the supplier is of the patterned paper so if anyone recognizes it don't be afraid to let me know, I like to give credit where credit is due. I used a doily in behind the framed image to give a little texture to the card.

          The Copic markers I used for this particular image are E000, E00, E11, R20, E51, E53, E55, R39, R46, NO, N1, N3, RV10, RV11, E41, E42, E43, E74, E77 and E79. The "Feel Better" sentiment is from ScrappyMoms. I added 2 red brads for a pop of colour. Faux stitching was added with a Uniball Signa white gel pen.

Remember the great sale! If you use the code {I love The Paper Nest} in the notes section at The Paper Nest, you can receive 20% off your entire order. This is good until March 31st. So stock up now while you have the chance.

Friends Who Can Handle All Weather.......

So welcome to my first official post for the Paper Nest Dolls as a design team member. I could not be more excited..... I have inked a few of these images over the last couple of weeks and they are simply adorable... Originally I was going to post my card that I completed using "Playing Dress Up" but I was surprised by the artist Christine with this adorable new release "All Weather Friend" and I could not resist trying to get this one inked up and ready to go for this post. You can find the stamp at The Paper Nest. Don't forget about the great little sale going on from now until March 31, 2013. If you use the saying "I love The Paper Nest" in the notes section at the Etsy store you will get 20% your entire order.... who can resist a sale?

This card was made on a 5.5X5.5" Gina K Kraft card stock. I absolutely love purple and teal together, one of my favourite colour combinations EVER.... so this time I actually picked the paper first. I used MME Lime Twist "Happy Go Lucky". <----{heart heart HEART} and Stampin Up Designer paper. I also used some designer brads from Stampin Up to tie in the purple on the image..... I also added some dimension to the water with a little Glossy Accents.... that stuff is AWESOME!

          I used Copics markers to ink these little ones up. Skin was done in E000, E00, E11 and R20. Hair is done in E50, E51, E53, E55, E13, E15, E17 and E18. Clothes are done in YG03, YG23, YG25, RV21, RV23, V17, V25, BG49 and BG57. Water is done with BG01, BG02 and BG05.
Umbrella was inked with V17, V25, E74, E77, BG49 and BG57. I also had some polka dots using my Uniball Signa white gel pen. The image was cut out with Spellbinders Label 3. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and by all means leave a comment, I would love to hear what you have to say. xo

Thank You.....

I am so excited....... my blog is going to be updated within the week and I am so happy with the changes that are about to be made..... stay tuned....

So I have found By LORi Designs..... and let me tell you, her stuff is cute..... I have no idea what rock I have been hiding under but I have seen the light..... :) I chose Lollipop Sophie. I never had a specific idea in mind for this card but it did end up being a "thank you" card for some co-workers who wanted it for someone who has gone beyond the call of duty. How can I resist making one of my cards..... I simply {heart} doing it for anyone. Especially if it brings a smile to his/her face.

As you can see I have used my newly designed (by myself) watermark which includes my new blog address. I am quite happy with it and finally have figured out how to do it.... :)

This is your typical A2 Gina K Kraft coloured card back. I don't typically use this size but thought it would work well with this stamp size I chose to use. I am unsure of the green cardstock used, I know it is Stampin Up and the pink is from the Petals line from Gina K.The patterned paper is AMAZING. It is a digital pack that I ordered from Beartless on Etsy. Lollipop Sophie is coloured with Copics. Her skin is E000, E00, E11 and R20. He hair is E50, E51, E53, and E55. I used YG03, YG23, YG25, R83 and R85 for the dress, bow and socks. The shoes are done in 110 and blended out with 0. I used pearl accents for around the die cut and a Uniball Signa gel pen in white for the faux stitching. The "thank you" sentiment on the inside is from ScrappyMoms..... Hope you enjoy.....xo

My Number 3 Card.......... :)

This is my third and final post of the night....... (I do have a 4th card but I have to wait to post that one). This card I am posting tonight is for my aunty. It's funny, I have been making birthday cards for all of my coworker's for the last year..... when I realized that my family wasn't even getting cards from me, say what? How could that be..... so I made a New Years Resolution and I have started making them for all of my family and my family is HUGE..... so I am going to be a busy girl.... but I love making them and I am doing really well, I am way ahead of schedule.... I think I am done until May..... I am kind of OCD about it..... anyways I used Send Me a Sign Bug by Tiddly Inks. I have used this stamp before and I love the versatility of it....... you can stamp whatever sentiment you want.... as long as it fits in the sign... ;)

I see a pattern here, I did a lot of teal and green today... I love those colours together. This is an A2 card in Gina K Kraft card stock. The patterned paper is again from Echo Park called "Happy Days". I see I forgot to write down the colours of the other paper. I know the green is Gina K, just can't remember the name of it..... and the teal paper is the dotted paper that you can distress. I used the Tim Holtz distressing tool and ink in "Walnut Stain". The digital stamp is coloured in E000, E00, E11 and R20. The dress is coloured in YG03, YG23 and YG25. The hair is E27. The sentiment is from Scrappy Mom's. I used some Stampin Up brads {to hide a smudge :)}. I also glittered it up a bit with Stickles in Diamonds. Totally cute and TOTALLY easy..... enjoy xo

Some Odd Girl's February Challenge......Woot Woot.....

So it has been a long time since I have taken part in a challenge..... a real long time and I really don't have any excuses but I will chalk it up to laziness....... My mojo is back and well now it is time to start creating some new cards...... so this one is a sketch challenge using Cheers Kaylee from Some Odd Girl..... she is super cute and quite easy to colour. However I made a small error but covered it well with a necklace..... haha!. I think it turned out extremely well considering I went out of lines ever so slightly..... I am a perfectionist and I can't have that nor can I re colour it all again so I drew in my own pearl necklace with a white Uni-ball Signa Gel pen.... (my most favourite thing in the world). Below is a picture of the sketch we were suppose to work with........

And here is the card I completed..... hope you like her, she was lots of fun to colour up....

Oh I {heart} this stamp so much and I can not believe I waited so long to ink her up..... total craziness....

So of course I started with a 5.5"X5.5" square card-back made out of Gina K Kraft coloured card stock {my ultimate favourite}. The patterned paper I used was Echo Park's "Happy Days". The sentiment used is from Scrappy Mom's. I used a Stampin Up scalloped punch. The embellishments {black rubbery thing} I got out of a drawer, I have no clue what it is or where it came from but I {heart} it..... I distressed everything with Tim Holtz distressing tool and inked it with "Walnut Stain". I used Copics to colour Cheers Kaylee..... Skin: E000, E00, E11 AND R20. Hair: E25, E27 and E29. I added toe nail polish in R89. The dress was coloured with BG02, BG05, BG07, YG03, YG23 and YG25, as with the shoes and glasses. I did colour the glass with some C1 and G000 but you can't really see it.....Her eyes were coloured with BG02 and BG05. Hope you love her and please leave comments..... I would love to hear what you have to say..... thanks for stopping by.... xo

Some Big BIG BIG News.........

So I have been chomping at the bit wanting to tell everyone my latest and greatest news and now officially I can........... I have been asked to be a part of the Paper Nest Dolls Design Team...... and I am so excited about it....... The Paper Nest has the greatest little digital stamps {available here}, all of which will be making their debut as rubber stamps in the very near future.... who doesn't like new rubbers???
The one I decided to ink up is a new release and her name is "Sunflower Ellie".

Isn't she to die for???

So everybody who knows me, knows I love Gina K Kraft coloured card stock. Here is a 5.5X5.5 card. I also used Gina K Lipstick Red and the designer paper I chose was Bella Carte "Beautiful Moments". I used Spellbinders circle and scalloped circles to give the card some texture. The sentiment is from Stamping Bella. "Sunflower Ellie" is coloured with Copic markers..... I {heart} my Copics..... I used E000, E00 and R20 for her skin.... her hair was coloured with E25, E27 and E29. Her boots are coloured with C5, C7 and C9. Her socks, flower and banding on her dress are coloured with R89. The sunflower is coloured with Y21 and Y26. To add some more texture I did the dotting effect to the centre of the flower with E25, E27 and E29. The stem was coloured with YG03, YG23 and YG25 and the cute little watering can was done with C3 and C5. Seeing as they are paper doll designs, I could not resist doing the little dress in paper piecing...  I distressed the layers and card with Tim Holtz distressing tool and "Walnut Stain" ink. To finalize it, I did faux stitching around the card with a Signa Uni-ball white gel pen.

I am truly looking forward to the next 6 months with the team.

Such a Pretty Little Stamp.....

Flutterby Annabelle
I absolutely love this stamp. In fact, I love all of the stamps from Tiddly Inks. They are always so creative and easy to colour. I coloured this lovely little Annabelle for my cousin's birthday card. After posting this pic I realized that she looks like she has a bad case of dandruff but I swear she does not. You will notice that in the finished card picture.I have been trying extremely hard to get all my birthday cards completed a head of time. So far, I have completed everything up to the middle of April. This is also including the cards for my coworkers. I feel like I have accomplished a ton of stuff over the Christmas holiday. I also am going away for 3 weeks the second week of March so I wanted to make sure everything was completed before I went. Here is the finished card.....

On this 5.5X5.5 card, as you know I used the Tiddly Inks Flutterby Annabelle digital stamp. I just love the teal and purple colour combinations together.... The teal paper is from Core'dinations, the lavendar paper is Mulberry paper that I use for my TearBears. The patterned paper is "Rhapsody Jubilation" from 3bugsinarug. As you can see from many other cards I have posted that I absolutely love the organic look of Gina K's Kraft paper. This is usually my first choice in colour that I will use for my cardbacks..... I also really like using Tim Holtz Distressing Ink in "Walnut Stain".
I am a HUGE Copic fan so most of my cards have been done with Copics..... I used E00, E11, R20 for her skin. Her hair was done in E25, E27, E29. The dress, shoes and wings were done with BV000, BV00, BV01, BV02, & BV08. For the remaining parts of the card I used RV63, RV66, B00, B01, B02, YG06, YG25, RV29, Y08, TR07, YR16, E40, E43 and RV23. I added some bling with Diamond Stickles. I also added the little crocheted butterfly (not sure who it is by). Hope you enjoy.....

First Time with Prismacolors.....

So I bought the Prismacolor pencils awhile back and this image was my very first attempt at using them. This image was done months ago and I finally got a chance to use it for my cousin's wedding anniversary card. Another Tiddly Inks digital stamp "You and Me". This card was inspired by this sketch made by Deconstructed Jen. I love her sketches and they really help when my mind draws a blank. This has happened a lot lately with all the cards I have tried to complete.

As you can see I used my favorite Gina K Kraft cardstock. This card is a 6X6 card, so I had to make my own envelope for it in matching kraft cardstock. I actually make most of my own envelopes either using the Kraft coloured cardstock or a coordinating colour. The patterned paper is Carta Bella "Beautiful Moments". I used heart and circle shaped spellbinders. I also distressed the edges with Tim Holtz "Walnut Stain" ink. I coloured the skin and hair with Copic markers. I used E000, E00, E11 and R20 for the skin.  The hair is coloured in E44, E47, E49 and C3, C5, C7, and C9.  The Prismacolors I used were PC94, PC92, PC935, PC1065 and 70% Cool Grey.

Teal, Orange and Coral, who knew?

This was kind of a different colour combination for me to do. I do not normally pair teal with oranges/corals but I have to say I really {heart} these together.... and quite honestly it wasn't planned, I was stumped as to what I was going to do to put this card together..... I was going through the boxes of patterned paper that I have and came across this MME "Garden Party". I {heart} MME.... they are simply very talented creative people who put together the most lovely paper...... I don't think there is any paper from them that I do not like........ so as I lay the pieces down I realized how well these colours actually work and I ran with it...... this is the finished result.... and I really quite like it.... hopefully my cousin likes it too.... :)

The close up will show you the "sparkle". I love Diamond stickles, I think it just adds that little "bling" to a card without over doing it. The stamp I chose for this particular card was Tiddly Inks "Wryn Birthday Girl". She is so sweet and cute. You could use her for Christmas as well if you really wanted to. Of course my A2 card was made from Gina K Kraft card stock. The teal coloured Core'dinations paper worked really well with the design of the card. The Copic markers I used were E00, E11, R20, E25, E27, E29, BG01, BG02, BG07, BG49, BG57, FV2, YG23, YG25, B18, B24, YR04, YR07, Y08, RV11 and RV14. I also finished the card some distressing with Tim Holtz "Walnut Stain" and Bella Creations seam binding...... hope you enjoy!!!!
