Patchwork Ellie With a Little Oldtime Owen..... =)

This has been a super busy week with posts for me, 3 in the last week! Christine asked me if I would do a special post using 2 of her images, Patchwork Ellie and Oldtime Owen. How could I say no? They are simply adorable.....

I used Copic markers to ink these 2 lovely stamps up. I used my favorite skin colour combo on both of them, E000, E00, E11 and R20. Their hair colour is also the same using E50, E51, E53 with a dash of E55. Their matching outfits were done with V12, V15, V17, BG34, BG57 and BG49. Old Time Owen's pants were done with E41, E42 and E43. The flowers and grass around their feet are inked with YG23, YG25, Y08, YR09, RV25 and Old Time Owen's bouquet is done with R46. Cutest couple EVER huh?

Both cards were made with Gina K Kraft card stock and both are square cards that are 5.5X5.5" size. I used MME Lime Twist paper on Patchwork Ellie and MME Miss Caroline's Dilly Dally patterned paper on Old Time Owen. I added some cool embellishments to both cards to tie them all together. Hope you enjoy..... stay crafty my friends......

The Paper Nest Doll's Summer Release Blog Hop =)

Welcome to The Paper Nest Dolls' Summer Stamp Release Blog Hop!

Today the very talented and creative design team of The Paper Nest Dolls has put together this hop to share with you projects made using our 14 new stamps!

Second Row: Dollhouse, Girl Talk

Digital versions of these stamps regularly sell for $3.00 each, but from today through Tuesday June 25th you can get ALL 14 images for only $25 here in our shop! AND all rubber stamps are 20% off, however in order to get the discount on the RUBBER STAMPS, please email Christine at papernestdolls@yahoo.com and she will send you a Paypal invoice.

I decided to make a card celebrating July 4th's Independence Day using Sparkler Ellie. She is absolutely adorable.....

The image was printed on Make it Crafty blending card. Sparkler Ellie was inked up using Copic markers, my all time favorite medium. Her skin was coloured with E000, E00, E11 and R20. I inked her hair with E50, E51 and E53. I could not resist the good ol' red, white and blue, so I inked her dress, hair accessories and shoes using B18, B24, B28, R37, R39 and R89. Grass, flowers and sparklers were done with G24, FYG1, Y68 and YR04. I also used some Diamond Stickles to add some bling to the sparklers and parts of the dress.

Here is the finished card...... I used Gina K Kraft card stock and made a 5.5X5.5' square card. I used Bo Bunny's Anthem patterned paper. I heavily distressed the edges of all the layers of this card using Tim Holtz Distressing Ink in Walnut Stain. I used Label 1 to cut out the inked image and framed it with royal blue card stock which was cut out with Label 16 from Spellbinders. {They work perfect together!} I also used Diamond Stickles on every single star as well as outlined the card to help bring out the "sparkle" in the card. I tied it all together with a deep red ribbon and some rhinestones in blue and red.

We couldn't host a blog hop without fun giveaways! One lucky winner will receive our entire set of new images, one lucky winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to our shop, and another lucky winner will receive the summer prize pack pictured below!

Participants must comment on every stop of the hop and be a follower of our blog for a chance to win! We also encourage you to become a fan of our Facebook page!

Everybody Loves Ladybugs......

As long as I can remember, I have always loved ladybugs. With this project I am about to show you, I decided to step outside of the box and do something a little different for myself. It is not your typical card that you would see from me but a tag, that is right folks, I made a TAG. A really cute tag using Ladybug Emma. You can find this stamp here. I decided I needed to try something different as I always complete cards, usually because I need them for something. It was time for something different.....

With Ladybug Emma, I used Copic markers to ink her up. Her skin was coloured with E000, E00, E11 and R20. Her hair was inked with........ Her dress I did with R37, R39, R46 and R89. The dots are done with C3, C5, C7 and C9. I used Diamond Stickles to add some sparkle. The grass was done in YG03. The flowers were inked with V12 and RV34.

I cut the tag shape from the Cricut machine using Tags, Bags and More. The tag is 6.5" in size. I used Gina K Kraft card stock. As you can see, I distressed everything using Tim Holtz distressing ink in Walnut Stain. I used black card stock and Pebbles patterned paper. I added some jazz with the cream coloured lace, black feather from Bella Blvd and some cheese clothe. The final touch was the red satin ribbon. This was definitely out of the box for me but I am very happy with how this turned out. Hope you enjoyed..... stay crafty my friends..... =)

Welcome to Wonderland, Tea Anyone??

I could not pass up the opportunity to take part in this special new release when I was asked by Christine. I absolutely ADORE this stamp and fell in love with it immediately. Her name is Teatime Ellie and she is part of Christine's Wonderland theme....... and wonderful it is......

How cute is she? ADORABLE....... I inked her up with Copic markers. Her skin was done with E000, E00, E11 and R20. Her hair is inked with E50, E51 and E53. Her dress, shoes and hair accessories were coloured with B00, B02, B04, B05 and B06. Her apron was inked with C0, C1 and C3. I also added some sparkle to her shoes and hair accessories with Turquoise Stickles.

I found this little wooden teapot and thought it would be perfect for this card. I covered it with My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose patterned paper and distressed it with Tim Holtz distressing ink in Walnut Stain. I stamped it with a sentiment "Warm Wishes" from the Paper Smooches "Hot Concoctions" stamp set.

I made this 5.5X5.5" square card from Gina K Kraft card stock. I used Turquoise card stock to add pops of colour. The first layer of patterned paper is Lilybeedesign's "Sweet Shoppe". The other patterned paper is My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose. I used Spellbinders Label 1 and 16 to cut out the image and frame. The heart border is called Layered Heart Border from MFT Die-Namics die cuts. I heavily distressed all the layers {including the card} with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain distressing ink. I tied in the bling with the rhinestones at the corner and I added faux stitching and dots with the Signo Uniball white gel pen. This is it..... hope you love.... stay crafty my friends.....

Challenge # 3.... Embossing..... =)

Welcome to the third challenge at The Paper Nest Dolls challenge blog. This challenge is all about embossing..... you heard me right....embossing.... However you can incorporate it in your project, we want to see it... =). You can visit the sideline of the challenge blog for the full rules, here. I used my favourite stamp of all times.....Boo Boo Bear {maybe cause I am a Paediatric nurse}. You can find her here!

Of course I used Copic markers to colour this lovely little lady. Her skin is coloured in E000, E00, E11 and R20. I made her a red head with E11, E13, E17 and E18. Teddy is coloured with E40, E41, E42, E74, E77, E79 and R20. Her hat and shirt were coloured with C1, R39 and R46. The stethoscope was inked with RV21. I also added some shadowing to the table area with W00, W1 and W3. How cute is she?

I used mulberry paper {the stuff used to make those cute fluffy little bears, see this post} in pink to frame the inked image. It was cut with the scalloped circle spellbinder and I dried embossed it with the Cuttlebug using the Spots & Dots folder.

The sentiment is from Ninja Skills which I purchased from There She Goes stamps. It is heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Below you can see the kraft background behind the inked image. This was heat embossed with clear embossing powder using the Inkadinkado polka dot background stamp.

I of course made the 5.5X5.5" square card using Gina K Kraft card stock. I used MME's Indie Chic "Saffron" patterned paper. I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz distressing tool and Walnut Stain ink. I also added faux stitching using the Signa Uniball gel pen in white. The rose is Spare Parts from the Paper Studio {thanks Christine =)}. I can't wait to see what all of you lovely little crafters will come up with for this challenge..... xo

LOADS of Love..........

So I decided to ink up this little baby..... her name is Washboard Ellie and she is available over at The Paper Nest store....... pick her up here! Isn't she ridiculously amazing??? I really enjoyed inking her up. I have a mild addiction to polka dots and with her hair tied up in the wrap reminds of back in the day when the pin-up girls would use handkerchiefs in their hair...... too cute.... =)

The copic markers I used were for the skin: E000, E00, E11 and R20. Her hair is done with E50, E51 and E53. Her hair wrap and shirt are done in R37, R39 and R89.           Gina K, of course, supplied the 5.5X5.5" card back in Kraft. I lined the Avelon patterned paper in black card stock and stitched it up with the sewing machine. I made the sentiment in Photoshop and added red ribbon to tie it together..... I absolutely love it.... hope you enjoy.... xo

I {Heart} My Little Brother

These siblings are cute! I was thrilled when I received this digital stamp. Kind of reminds me of me little bro and myself, although my little bro is not so little anymore at 6'4". I would go to the ends of the earth for my little brother and he would probably {I think} do the same for me ;). Although if you asked him he may disagree.... :)

This card is layered with bright fun colours from BoBunny "Double Dots" & Studio G. Heavily distressed {once again} by Tim Holts distressing tool and Walnut Stain ink. I could not do a card without my trusty Gina K Kraft card stock. This card is 5.5X5.5. I used AmyR sentiments "hugs" and "Bestfriends Forever".

          The Copics used are E000, E00, E11, E25, E27, E29, E41, E42, E43, E74, E77, E79, B24, B28, G17, R20, R37, R39, R89, V25, FV2, BG05, BG07, 110 and 0. I used some teal sparkly ribbon and 2 bright purple buttons. Faux stitching was added as well. "My Little Brother" rubber stamp is available here. The digital stamp is also available.

Everyone Needs a Little Sweet in Their Life.....

I am going to be honest, I have a hard time with male cards.... I do not believe I am the first to admit this and I am definitely not going to be the last by any means. IN FACT, I am pretty sure I have mentioned it somewhere in my blog before.... It's not that I am opposed to doing male cards, I just find it easier to make cards girly because of the embellishments that are available......BUT, when I saw Sweet Friend, I was amped to do a boy's card and it was really easy because this stamp made it easy. Check it out.....

I definitely think he is a keeper! I heavily distressed the layers on this card with Tim Holtz distressing tool and Walnut Stain ink. It is layered on an A2 Gina K Kraft card. Another unknown source for patterned paper.... {I have a few of these, with no cover page}I embossed the sentiment "Sweet Friend" by Scrappy Moms {which was PERFECT} with white embossing powder.

          The image is inked with Copics..... {of course}! I used E000, E00, E11, E25, E27, E74, E77, E79, G05, G07, G17, RV10 and RV11. The 3 little green buttons brought the card all together. I hope you like it, he is available here.

Don't forget to use the code "I love The Paper Nest" in the notes section to receive 20% off your entire order at The Paper Nest. This special is only till the end of March!

Anyone Need a Do??

I {heart} this stamp! It is so adorable and when I first received it from Christine I was giddy with delight...... I use to be a hairdresser {for 13 years} before I went back to school to get my nursing degree. I could not resist picking this little lovely out to ink up. The Paper Doll Salon is so cute, don't you think?

Remember if you visit The Paper Nest before March 31st and use the code " I love the Paper Nest" {in the notes section} you can get 20% off your entire order, so it's a perfect time to stock up on all the little cuties that are available.

This is 5X5 card made from Gina K Kraft card stock {my favourite}! The patterned paper I used is My Mind's Eye "The Sweetest Thing - Honey". I have the most unique embellishment, I have no idea where it came from but I found it in my stash. It is shiny and silver in colour and unfortunately really hard to see in the picture.... but it adds a lot of flare to this card. I used some teal ribbon to add a pop of colour and a felt flower embellishment. The inside says Absolutely FABulous....Thank You!. I'm thinking a perfect card for the hairdresser in your life.... :)

I used my medium of choice, Copics. Both ladies skin is coloured in E000, E00, E11 and R20. The hairdresser's hair is E51, E53 and E55. Her dress & shoes are inked with Y15 & Y17. Her belt is E41, E42 and E43 {as with the sign}. Her dryer is coloured with T3 & T5. The client is sitting on a chair coloured in RV06, RV09, 100 and 0. Pants & shoes are B24 & B28. Her Top is coloured in RV10 & RV11. Let's not forget her hair in rollers..... E25 & E27 and some pops of colour with BG07 & BG10 with the rollers, hair bow and hair tools.

I distressed using Tim Holts distressing tool and Walnut Stain ink. I also added some faux stitching around the card with a Uniball Signa white gel pen. Hope you like her, please feel free to comment....

Love is Such a Beautiful Thing.....

So this card that I am posting today is for my baby brother and his wife. I was so happy when Jill came into our family..... although I am sure she thought I was a little crazy. But she fit right in with all of us.... they have given me my beautiful niece and handsome nephew and I love them dearly.....
I first noted this stamp company on Facebook, all these cute little digital stamps kept creeping on my page and they were adorable.... so when I saw this one, I knew exactly who I was going to make a card for with it...... Heidi from 2CuteInk can rock some serious cuteness. This is Panda Love......

Aren't they absolutely adorable? I fell in love the minute I saw this stamp..... please see below for details....

As with most of my cards, this one is made on Gina K Kraft card stock in the A2 size. The digital stamp was printed on Gina K Pure Luxury 120lb white card stock. Gina K Black Onyx was used to frame the image. The patterned paper I used was MME "Love Me". One of the many paper packs I got from The Paper Nest {thank you Christine!} Of course I distressed the main layering piece with Tim Holts distressing tool and inked all the layering edges with "Walnut Stain". I also added some faux stitching with the Uniball Signo white gel pen. What I thought was really a nice touch was the little wood mini hearts that I got from Simon Says Stamp from they February Card Kit..... The image was inked in none other than Copic markers. I used R83, R85, Y16, C0, C1, C3, C5, C7, and C9.

The inside of the card was kept to a minimal with the use of some patterned paper from MME's "Love Me". The sentiment "all because two people fell in love" is from Scrappy Mom's. I really hope you like this as I hope my cousin's will too. xo

Goodies GALORE - The Paper Nest Haul =)

So as I kill some time waiting for my mani/pedi appointment {YEAH}...... I decided I would blog a bit about all the goodies I received from Christine from The Paper Nest. When I started this gig with The Paper Nest Dolls I was told I would get a nice care package with some product in it. HOLY MOLY..... I was not expecting the stuff I got. I feel like it is Christmas or that I have won a lottery......

Now seeing as I do not do YouTube videos..... {this is purely by choice} as I can barely find time to blog so why would I add videos to the mix? Maybe in the future when I can quit working my full time job and do this all day long {DrEaMiNg}...... I thought I would do a blog haul.... I do not know if this is the way things area done BUT this is how I am going to do it. I also wanted everyone to know just how generous Christine from The Paper Nest is......

Now some people would say she went a little overboard {I am one of them} as I think I am still a little overwhelmed by all that I received. I am also very grateful for all this stuff that I can be creative with.... Kind of makes me mad I am going on vacation now because I would love to stay and play with all the goodies I received {ok well maybe a little mad} because let's face it I have not had holidays since November and I am DUE..... =)

So I am going to add some pictures to show you what I was so lucky to receive!!!

Got a Boo Boo?

OMG, can you say cute? Another little stamp that tugged at my heart strings. BooBoo Bear is simply the cutest {EVER}! Being a paediatric nurse I have nursed a few bears in my time for patients of mine so I could not resist this one at all.... pick this one up here

So what do you think? How cute is she {and him}? It really is a simple card but still so adorable. This is an A2 card from Gina K Kraft card stock. Unfortunately I do not know who the supplier is of the patterned paper so if anyone recognizes it don't be afraid to let me know, I like to give credit where credit is due. I used a doily in behind the framed image to give a little texture to the card.

          The Copic markers I used for this particular image are E000, E00, E11, R20, E51, E53, E55, R39, R46, NO, N1, N3, RV10, RV11, E41, E42, E43, E74, E77 and E79. The "Feel Better" sentiment is from ScrappyMoms. I added 2 red brads for a pop of colour. Faux stitching was added with a Uniball Signa white gel pen.

Remember the great sale! If you use the code {I love The Paper Nest} in the notes section at The Paper Nest, you can receive 20% off your entire order. This is good until March 31st. So stock up now while you have the chance.
